BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management business
of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), today announced that Lynn
Blake, a 23-year SSgA veteran will assume the role as global head of
Index Equity following the retirement of Paul Brakke, 53, senior
managing director and head of the Global Structured Products Group at
the end of the year.
Blake, 45, who will report to Rick Lacaille, global chief investment
officer for SSgA, will assume the leadership role from Brakke who plans
to retire on December 31, 2010 after nearly two decades at State Street
Global Advisors.
“This is a seamless transition from one indexing industry veteran to
another,” said Lacaille. “Lynn and Paul have worked side-by-side in
SSgA’s Global Structured Products Group for almost two decades building
a strong team and delivering solutions for our clients. Lynn is a
seasoned professional who is a passionate advocate for index
management—a cornerstone of SSgA’s business. We’re confident in her
ability to leverage the team’s seasoned professionals and global
resources to ensure that SSgA remains at the forefront of innovation in
indexation.”
Blake joined SSgA in 1987 and has held several senior positions within
the organization, most recently head of non-US markets in the Global
Structured Products Group. She has also served as a portfolio manager
for several non-US index equity portfolios. A CFA charter member, Blake
is also a member of SSgA’s Senior Management Group and Fiduciary Review
Committee.
SSgA has decades of experience providing index equity solutions that can
track almost any benchmark. Its strategic advantages are reflected by
five core strengths—experience, breadth, flexibility, internal
liquidity, and size. Today, SSgA’s Global Structured Products Group
manages US $682 billion in index equity assets.
